Beyond Social Media Tools: Why Doublemind Is Building an AI Teammate

Social teams don't lack tools. They lack something to hold the steps together. Here's why Doublemind is building AI teammates instead of adding another app to the stack, and how Sia takes on the social media workflow while approvals stay with you.

Beyond Social Media Tools: Why Doublemind Is Building an AI Teammate

Most social media teams aren't short on software. There's a scheduler, a writing assistant, a design tool, an analytics dashboard, and a content calendar sitting somewhere in the middle of all of it.

Beyond Social Media Tools: Why Doublemind Is Building an AI Teammate

What's missing is the thing that holds those pieces together: someone to decide what goes out, write the brief, make the asset, adapt it per platform, get it approved, publish it, and check what happened.

That coordination is the job. Everything else is a step inside it.

Doublemind builds AI teammates designed to take on repetitive workflows while keeping people in control of decisions and approvals.

Sia is Doublemind's first AI teammate, built specifically for social media management. This is why we chose that model instead of building one more tool for the stack.

Social media has a tool problem

A single social post travels through a long chain: strategy, idea, copy, design, approval, scheduling, publishing, measurement. In most teams, each of those stages lives in a different place.

The idea starts in a doc. The copy gets drafted in an AI writing tool. The visual is made somewhere else. Approval happens in Slack or over email. Scheduling happens in a platform that knows nothing about the three steps before it.

None of these tools are bad at their job. Schedulers schedule reliably. Writing tools produce usable drafts in seconds. Design tools have made decent visuals accessible to people who aren't designers.

The gap is between them. Every handoff needs a person to carry context forward - what the brand sounds like, who the post is for, what was already published last week, what the campaign is supposed to achieve.

Tools can make individual tasks faster. They don't necessarily take responsibility for the workflow.

So teams end up with faster steps and the same amount of work.

We don't think the answer is another tool

We started Doublemind with a simple observation: the bottleneck in marketing execution isn't task speed anymore. It's coordination. Adding a ninth tool to an eight tool stack doesn't fix that it usually adds another thing to operate.

So we built around three principles.

A teammate should move work forward. If software waits for a prompt at every micro step, the human is still doing the hard part: deciding what happens next. We wanted something that takes a goal and makes progress on it.

A teammate should understand the brand. Re-explaining your voice, your audience, and your positioning in every single prompt is not a workflow. Context should persist.

A teammate should know when a human needs to decide. This one matters most to us. Autonomy in software is not the same as unsupervised publishing, and we don't treat it that way.

What we mean by an AI teammate

An AI teammate is software designed to take responsibility for a workflow, not just respond to individual commands.

It understands context, carries work across multiple steps, produces outputs, and brings the human back in when judgment or approval is required. Put differently: an AI teammate moves work across a workflow instead of waiting for a human to initiate every individual task.

The distinction is easier to see side by side:

Traditional tool AI teammate
Waits for a task Moves a workflow forward
Handles a specific action Works across connected steps
Requires repeated inputs Retains relevant context
Produces an output Helps complete an outcome
User operates the tool Human supervises and approves

These are two models of interacting with software, not a ranking. Plenty of work is better served by a precise tool you operate directly. Recurring, multi-step, context heavy work is where the teammate model earns its place and social media is exactly that kind of work.

Sia is our first AI teammate

Sia is Doublemind's first AI teammate, built for social media management.

The workflow Sia is designed around mirrors how social actually gets done: learn the brand, plan, create, adapt formats, get approval, publish. A brand memory layer holds voice, audience, positioning, and the things you never want said - and applies them to what gets produced, rather than asking you to restate them each time. Sia works across Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, and X.

The point isn't the feature list. The point is the shape of the interaction. Instead of asking Sia to write one isolated LinkedIn post, the idea is that Sia understands the brand, helps build the content plan, creates the formats each channel needs, and moves that work toward publication.

AI should reduce coordination, not remove control

"AI agent" can easily be heard as "system that runs unattended." That's not what we're building.

Nothing Sia produces goes live without user approval. Autopilot exists, but it's an option you turn on deliberately not the default state of the product. Our view is that AI assistance should reduce repetitive coordination without removing human judgment from the workflow.

The goal isn't to remove people from marketing. It's to remove repetitive coordination from their day.

Built for teams with more work than time

Small businesses: a consistent social presence without building a marketing function to sustain it.

Startups and SaaS: content keeps moving while the team stays focused on product and growth.

Marketing teams: less repetitive production, fewer handoffs to manage.

Agencies: more social workflows handled without multiplying manual tasks.

Sia is the beginning, not the destination

Doublemind is a company building AI teammates. Sia is the first one, and social media is the first use case not the boundary of the idea.

The same pattern shows up across marketing and operations: work that spans multiple steps, carries context, repeats weekly, and quietly consumes the time of the people best positioned to do something more valuable. Over time, we want Doublemind to be where teams come to add an AI teammate for that kind of work.

Don't add another tool. Add a teammate.

The last decade of social media software gave marketers better tools. We think that was the right answer to a question that's no longer the hard one. Teams don't need a faster way to perform each step they need less manual work holding the steps together.

That's the bet behind Sia, and behind everything we build next.
